What World Are We Living In?

Guns, death, and darkness. Is any happiness coming through?

When I first heard of the war between Russia and Ukraine, I thought this may be over within a week, but it turns out, I was wrong. Three weeks of war have passed by. When are we going to move on?

This moment reminds me of surviving the first few weeks of COVID-19 two years ago. Today, March 13th, 2022, marks two years of the pandemic. Two years of wearing masks. Two years of staying at home. Two years of change.

The entire world has changed from the pandemic, both good and bad ways. Thinking about this, our, once the peaceful world will have an impact due to the war.

Lately, in California, gas prices have increased from $4.00 to $7.00. We are only in the year 2022, but imagine what will happen in later years like 2030. Not just gas prices, think about clothes, household items, and even food!

The other day, I stopped by Starbucks to get a Short Mocha Frappuccino, which I got for $4.99, excluding tax. Everything was perfectly fine until I noticed something was different. But what was it? The price was the same, and so was the taste. I noticed that the size was different. What does this mean? Earlier, it was $4.99 for a bigger size, but now it was smaller. Indirectly, Starbucks increased their sizes, by using a business tactic.

See what I mean? Everything is expensive, from a wide menu of items. Have you noticed the quality of items and customer service these days?

Everything is AI, and customer service is not the same as three years ago. Talking to an Amazon representative about an issue with your latest Amazon order has turned into talking to a robot. To be honest, those robots do not understand specific problems. When I see customers with a thick accent, robots do not understand what they are saying. This makes things slower and frustrates the customer.

Because of this, I sometimes feel too scared to imagine the future. Can the world hold its glue?
